Privacy Policy

1. Links and video processing

The public TikTok link you submit is sent to Clipjar’s server, which requests the video from its source and stores a file to make it available for download. Processing does not happen entirely on your device. Thumbnail information may also be held in server memory to display the result. Clipjar does not request your TikTok password or sign-in credentials.

2. Temporary server storage

Prepared video files and associated in-memory thumbnail references are automatically eligible for deletion after one hour and may disappear sooner if the service restarts. Expired files are also rejected when requested. Do not rely on Clipjar to store or back up a video; save the prepared file to your device.

3. Privacy-safe product analytics

Clipjar uses PostHog to measure download attempts, successes and failure categories, confirmation-page views, preview plays, and final download clicks. Events use a random identifier kept for the browser tab’s session. Clipjar does not send the submitted TikTok link, prepared filename, video title, creator name, or full IP address to PostHog as event properties, and asks PostHog not to create person profiles or derive location from these events. Analytics is used to understand reliability and improve the service.

4. Operational request data

Clipjar and its hosting provider may process IP addresses, timestamps, route patterns, request IDs, response status, timing, and error categories to operate the service, apply request limits, and investigate failures. Application logs are structured to avoid submitted TikTok links and prepared filenames. Hosting infrastructure may maintain its own security and access logs under its policies.

5. Advertising

Clipjar uses Google AdSense to support the service. Google may use cookies, device identifiers, and request information in connection with advertising. These services have their own data practices. Learn more about how Google uses information from partner sites.

6. External services

Preparing a video involves contacting its source. The result page may also load a thumbnail from the source. Fonts are supplied by Google Fonts. Your browser may send technical request information when it connects to these services.

7. Security and availability

The public site uses HTTPS and applies request, concurrency, processing-time, and file-size limits. No online service can guarantee absolute security or uninterrupted availability. Please submit public video links only, and do not include sensitive information in links or support emails.

8. Children’s privacy

Clipjar is not directed at children under 13. If you have a concern about a child’s information in connection with the service, contact us.
